Volunteers from all over Kentucky came to McCreary County on July 9 to participate in the Extreme Build sponsored by the Kentucky Baptist Fellowship and the McCreary County Community Housing Development Corporation.
Over 130 volunteers will work to construct a home in one week for Brenda Perry, grandmother of three.
The Extreme Build is the first major construction project by the Kentucky Baptist Fellowship's Mountain Hope in McCrearyCounty, which is one of the counties targeted by CBF's Together for Hope Rural Poverty Initiative.
Construction volunteers were organized into teams, and each team was assigned a certain task.
Organizations and businesses like Habitat for Humanity, Christian Appalachian Project, Walmart and Kroger have supported the volunteer effort.
With the roof complete, volunteers started installing painting windows and installing drywall and flooring. The house will be dedicated Friday afternoon.
